Book of Mormon | Chapter Heading Correction of 3 Nephi 2: White Lamanites

Part of the chapter heading reads:
“Converted Lamanites become white and are called Nephites.”

It should be:
“Converted Lamanites unite with and are numbered among the Nephites; the curse is removed, and their skin becomes white.”

Here it is:
12 Therefore, all the Lamanites who had become converted unto the Lord did unite with their brethren, the Nephites…
13 And it came to pass that before this thirteenth year had passed away the Nephites were threatened with utter destruction because of this war, which had become exceedingly sore.
14 And it came to pass that those Lamanites who had united with the Nephites were numbered among the Nephites;
15 And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites;
16 And their young men and their daughters became exceedingly fair, and they were numbered among the Nephites, and were called Nephites. And thus ended the thirteenth year.

The chapter heading for 3 Nephi 2 reads, in part:

“Converted Lamanites become white and are called Nephites”.

In 3 Nephi 2:12, 14-16, we see that the converted Lamanites unite with the Nephites, are also “numbered among the Nephites”, and then the curse is taken from them, and their skin “became white like unto the Nephites”–a little more and a little bit different order from the chapter heading order; and though it might seem trite, it probably has continued to lead to misunderstandings about what “must” happen when Lamanites are converted, etc.
