Book of Mormon: Bountiful Prepared of the Lord–Maybe not What We’re Looking for? (1 Nephi 17:5)

1 Nephi 17:5 And we did come to the land which we called Bountiful, because of its much fruit and also wild honey; and *all these things were prepared of the Lord that we might not perish*. And we beheld the sea, which we called Irreantum, which, being interpreted, is many waters.

Bountiful might or might not have been a “normal” oasis that every Book of Mormon researcher is looking for in the Arabian peninsula–Nephi makes it clear that it was prepared of the Lord” to specifically preserve the Lehites.

On the other hand, there’s no need to limit Bountiful to a place that only existed for the Lehites, not before or after. It could have been a once-in-a-while oasis, or one that hand’t been used up yet/ that was passed over by other people, etc.
