Adam And Eve: Immortal Yet Childless: Lacked Microbe?

In the article “Bacteria, Cancer & the Origin of Life, Part Two”, Alan Cantwell, Jr., M.D., writes that “Virginia Wuerthele-Caspe Livingston (a physician),… believed everyone carried cancer microbes in their blood and tissues. And the microbe was essential for life. In 1974, she discovered some cancer-associated *bacteria produced an HCG-like hormone* – the human choriogonadotropin hormone, which is an *essential hormone needed to start life in the womb*. But she also thought *the microbe was the germ that did most people in as they aged*. The microbe was Mother Nature’s built-in terminator to force old people off the planet and to make room for new life on the planet.”

Interesting that in LDS/ Mormon theology, Adam and Eve were immortal yet childless. Lehi says:
2 Nephi 2:22 And now, behold, if Adam had not transgressed he would not have fallen, but he would have remained in the garden of Eden. And all things which were created must have remained in the same state in which they were after they were created; and they *must have remained forever, and had no end*.
23 And *they would have had no children*; wherefore they would have remained in a state of innocence, having no joy, for they knew no misery; doing no good, for they knew no sin.

Most explanations in Sunday School/ classes is that Adam and Eve, being innocent like children/ etc., didn’t know what sex was/ weren’t ashamed/ etc., therefore didn’t have any children. Makes sense.

In the above verse 2 Nephi 2:23, , it says they would have remained innocent because they didn’t have children, not the other way around. (This is a simple observation on one verse, not a theory.)

Could there be more to it? Could it be that Adam and Eve lacked this microbe/ bacteria? Could it be that eating the fruit brought about this change?
